The reason; because memory is one of the tools that God uses to shape and form us in the image of Christ.

How do we keep from drowning in worry? Not by avoidance, distraction, or anything like those… no, we Christians can only keep from drowning in worry when we keep casting our anxieties upon our Savior who cares for us. Our text is 1 Peter 5:7, but Psalm 55 is a good parallel to read alongside this.
