“Grace and Peace” seems to be a common greeting when you read through the New Testament letters. However, it doesn’t mean that “Grace and Peace” is a common idea. In 1 Corinthians 1:4-9, Paul tells us how grace brings us (and continues to bring us) into friendship (peace) with God.

An often overlooked reality of the Gospel is that one day the Lord will return to judge the earth in righteousness. It shouldn’t be overlooked, because it is the reason for the incarnation, that there would be an escape in Christ Jesus. So with this reality in mind, a question should come to mind- “What sort of people should we be?”

All of 2 Peter 2 deals with false teachers… and what normally comes to mind when we think of false teachers would be considered an obvious source. But false teaching isn’t always obvious. Jesus said you will recognize them by their fruits, and that is what Peter focuses on.
