Slow Down

January 7, 2020

  • Jesse Stoner

Psalm 46:10 says “Be still, and know that I am God.” The reality is that too often we allow busy-ness to crowd out that stillness, to encroach upon our friendship with God. So how does the Christian live out verse 10? Especially when life is sometimes so frantic?

Fight to the Finish

December 19, 2019

  • Called Out

There are many military references throughout the New Testament writings. The Day of Victory

November 26, 2019

  • Jesse Stoner
  • Called Out

The return of the Lord, for the Christian, will be a day of Victory. A day that will see the complete and quick change of our mortal bodies, it will bring with it the death of death, of sin, and even the end of the Law that magnifies our sin. … So what do we do with this knowledge? 1 Corinthians 15:50-58 says “Hold on till the end.”

The Resurrection Body

November 19, 2019

  • Jesse Stoner
  • Called Out

What hope is there when someone dies? For the Christian, there is a tremendous hope because of Christ’s resurrection. We know that when He returns we shall be raised, and we shall all be changed… This message from 1 Corinthians 15:35-50 follows the format of the text, answering the questions “how?” and “What will we become?”

The Consequences of the Resurrection

November 10, 2019

  • Jesse Stoner
  • Called Out

The word “Consequence” is often used in a negative context. In 1 Corinthians 15:20-34, Paul contrasts the consequences of Adam and the Lord Jesus- one man’s actions brought death, the other’s brings life… but Paul displays God’s abounding nature displayed in Christ, that He would answer death in an overwhelming way.
