Dear Sardis
“I am basically a good person,” I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard that said. The church in Sardis teaches us that the absence of immorality does not guarantee the presence of goodness. The only thing that quantifies goodness is the presence of Christ living and moving among His people. Revelation 3:1-6 forces us to ask the difficult question- am I living like, and becoming like, Christ Jesus? The alternative is spiritual death.
What Happens When We Die?
One of the more dreaded questions a child may ask is “What happens when we die?” While many people have made attempts at answering that question, there is really only one person with the qualifications and authority to speak with certainty on the subject. Matthew 22:23-33 gives us Jesus’ answer to this question.
Marriage
Ephesians 5:21-33 teaches us a lot about God’s design for marriage. While it breaks from the series in that this isn’t directly from Jesus’ words, it does teach us that the model for marriage is taken from Christ and His church.

Why Worry is So Harmful
You probably wouldn’t think of worry, or fear, or anxiety, as sin- at least not like the “really big” sins- but it is. Not just because Jesus said not to do it (3 times in Luke 12:22ff), but also because of what worry does… Worry, which does not produce anything, will actually erode at our faith’s foundation. This message tackles worry, and what we should do instead.
Learning to Listen
Our first Biblical introduction to God is of Him speaking the world into existence, then Christ calls us to “learn from Him,” so it stands to reason that we should expect God to speak to us. The big question then is “Will we listen?” Our text is Mark 3:22-30.
