If there ever was a sin with which we look the other way it’s pride… but not in other people! No, with other people we recognize it and label it as “Arrogance.” But we often are more lenient with our selves, aren’t we? That’s part of the danger of pride… it causes us to the lift ourselves up and push other people down. Corinth is evidence of what happens when pride is allowed to grow within a church. The Foundation God Demands
1 Corinthians 3:10-17 is all about how you, a believing Christian, are part of Christ’s church, and that you are being built together on the the foundation of Jesus Christ to be a strong, immovable, and lasting church.
Grow Up
The church in Corinth was called out for something that is often found acceptable in our own selves, spiritual infancy. In 1 Corinthians 3:1-4 we read Paul’s charge for them to grow up, to become more than human; this should be the norm for Christ’s church everywhere.

2 Peter 2:1-3 tells us a lot about false teachers, even that they are headed for destruction. So why are there so many false teachers? Why does the church have such a problem identifying them? Our text draws out 5 signs of false teachers so that we can identify them and disregard their teaching.
Power and Promise
All of the gospel is a promise. All of it. So what happens when a doubt sneaks in because we’ve known people who have broken their promises, or who have tried, but couldn’t keep their promises? Is God like that? And what does He promise us? 2 Peter 1:3-4 is still considered the introduction, so this is in a lot of ways just a sneak peek at what the rest of the letter has in store for us.
It Takes A Congregation
Psalm 121, a song of ascents, teaches us the necessity of the church- the body of Christ that a Christian is supposed to be a part of. The necessity comes because we have fears, we have doubts, and we need to be encouraged by these brothers and sisters. Youth Group
Youth Group meets on Sundays in the FLC (enter off Monroe) at 6:30 PM. We start with a meal, but then break off into groups as we study God’s word. This is open to students from 7th grade to 12th grade.
