We often have trouble connecting the dots between the observed tradition (that Christ rose from the grave), and our living out of that truth. In Acts 6:8-7:60 we see a man named Stephen who was clothed in Christ. He shows us what the risen Christ does within the lives of those who belong to Jesus.

Every church has it’s problems. But in those problems every church has an opportunity to show the power of Christ in how they address those problems. Acts 6:1-7 is a charge to enlist in solving problems… if we are products of the Gospel, then we should want to show the nature of the Gospel; if we love the Gospel, then we should be willing to do what it takes to make sure the Gospel is still proclaimed in spite of our problems.

Have you ever found yourself unsure of how to pray? Maybe we have been exhausted, maybe we have found ourselves distracted, these moments point out how much we need help in praying. It sounds weird to say it this way I know, but we can thank God that the disciples suffered in Acts 4 so that we would have a record of how to pray in tough times.
