This last look at the “almost parable” of Matthew 25:31-46 shoots down a lot of our misconceptions of hell. While the subject matter can be heavy and sometimes depressing, there is something redeeming in what Christ teaches on the subject- the cross of Christ should be in full view when we speak about hell.

It would be a mistake to think that Jesus would want us to simply wait for the kingdom to appear. In fact, the Christian should be well aware that the Kingdom of Christ has always been, and that there are things for us to be doing now within the Kingdom. Matthew 25:31-43 teaches us that there is something to do NOW.
