While we often want to see ourselves in the parables of Jesus, we don’t want to see ourselves here, at least, not in this part. The elder son in Luke 15 is just as lost as his brother once was, and what is keeping him apart from his father is his own self-righteousness.

Students
This statement summarizes the vision of our student ministry. Our student ministry is made up of Warren and Fountain county students from grades 7-12. Between parents, teachers, social workers, and recently graduated students, we are blessed to have a church wide emphasis on reaching this generation with the truth of Jesus Christ. We firmly believe
Letters
In 2 Corinthians 3:1-7, Paul begins to address a concern some people had regarding letters of recommendation- Imagine asking the Apostle Paul for a letter of recommendation before allowing him to preach at the church he planted- Paul subtly changes the conversation to discuss the letter of the Law, the Old Covenant. It seems the peddlers of the Gospel were beginning to show that they were teaching salvation through the Law, rather than through the grace of Christ Jesus.
Preserving this Relationship
“The Church” is not an optional supplement for a Christian, but something that God has ordained. So it should be that when Satan tries to create rifts within The Church, we seek to preserve the relationship that God has created through Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:12-14 provides us with a few questions to ask ourselves when we find ourselves at odds with any brother or sister in Christ so that we might continue on together.
How God Uses Suffering Part 1
Suffering, hardship, trouble, whatever you want to call it, is a guarantee in this fallen world- even more so for the Christian. While the question we often ask is “Why?” there is a glimpse of a different question in 2 Corinthians 1:3-7- How? How does God use sufferings to shape and form us?
The Consequences of the Resurrection
The word “Consequence” is often used in a negative context. In 1 Corinthians 15:20-34, Paul contrasts the consequences of Adam and the Lord Jesus- one man’s actions brought death, the other’s brings life… but Paul displays God’s abounding nature displayed in Christ, that He would answer death in an overwhelming way.
Tongues (and…)
A number of times we turn to I Corinthians 14:6-25 for guidance on the gift of tongues. In the middle of this teaching, Paul sets forth a call to spiritual maturity- he challenges us to change our priorities, our practices, and our thinking.
